Music Therapy
is “a behavioral science concerned with changing unhealthy behavior and replacing it with more adaptive
behavior through the use of musical stimuli” (Davis, Gfeller, & Thaut, 1999, p. 354). According to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), music therapy is “the prescribed use
of music by a qualified person to effect positive changes in the psychosocial, psychical, cognitive or social functioning
of individuals health or educational problems” (http://www.musictherapy.org/faqs.html)
